VoiceTrain founder, Tekoa Freeman-Morris (Coach TK) is a soulful, powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and professional recording artist with over 20 years of experience in her craft. In addition to original studio recordings, Coach TK has performed at numerous events on the East Coast as both a headliner and background singer. Her extensive resume includes two major performances for the South East Marine Core League Convention.
Coach TK founded VoiceTrain in 2021 and has not looked back since. She is a passionate educator, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of vocal talent. Trained in classical and contemporary styles by instructors at the London School of Music, her deep expertise in vocal pedagogy is rooted in the teachings of Berton Coffin and the timeless principles of bel canto.
Known for a warm, engaging presence and a larger-than-life personality, Coach TK brings energy, inspiration, and motivation into every lesson. Her teaching philosophy centers on healthy vocal technique, artistic expression, and a love for the craft. Whether guiding students through vocal performance, music theory, or music history, Coach TK creates a supportive and dynamic environment where singers of all levels can thrive and grow.
Coach TK is currently earning her Master's in Art of Religion with concentration in Worship. She is set to graduate in 2025.
The VoiceTrain Method
Our philosophy is that the voice is an instrument to be mastered. The VoiceTrain Method is a 3-point system which teaches students how to master the vocal coordination's of fine singing. Our work is heavily informed by the teachings of Dr. Berton Coffin formerly of the University of Colorado and the Bel Canto genre of singing. Voice theory is woven into each lesson and students learn the musical foundation they need to discover and stylize their own, unique sound.
Coach TK designed the classes to synergize the centuries-old phonetics systems of Italian singing with modern applications in a way that:
- eases vocal tension,
- increases vocal flexibility,
- strengthens the natural tone,
- and enhances the best voice qualities for brighter, bolder, beautiful singing.
